You can be the cool mom who sings along to her favourite song, hangs out in her pyjamas, and makes skincare faster than dinner. I think this sounds a lot more fun than a 9 to 5 job.
My maternity leave was coming to an end, my daughter wasn't settling at nursery, and my bank account was getting emptier quicker than my snack drawer.
I could only choose between things I didn't want. That felt so unfair.
Since I was already dabbling in the art of homemade skincare as a hobby, my loved ones encouraged me to turn my efforts into a full-fledged enterprise. But I didn't have the heart to tell them that some of the things I was making with online recipes weren't helping my skin. My armpits got a rash from the baking soda, my arms and legs got sensitive from the essential oils, and sometimes when I opened a jar, there was gross green mould staring back at me.
I felt like my life was at a crossroads, and I wasn't sure which direction to turn. After breakfast, one day, my daughter asked me what was wrong, and I told her that I had always wanted to start selling my own skincare products but had no idea how to go about doing so. To which she said, "Mummy, you can go to school and study." Her simplicity was wrapped in pure wisdom. I smiled and wondered why it is that so many of us grownups believe we can't change careers.
And so my journey began! I went through several courses and qualified as a skincare formulator. Alongside making and selling skincare products, I decided to teach other women how to create their own skincare so they can also experience healthy skin, and the ease and joy of formulating. Some carried on making their own, and some decided to start a skincare business.

In my former life I wore the disguise of Accountant. Secretly, deep down, I was a maker – a creator. And I was tired of spending so much money on expensive products that not only barely helped with my children’s skin conditions, but sometimes actually made them worse.
I bit the bullet, looked up some recipes online, ordered my ingredients, and started making.
And guess what!? All of those products ended up in the bin. Everything I created either made my skin worse or grew mould over it. Ooops, that was meant to be the part of the story where all my dreams came true, right?

For a while. But with doctors prescribing me steroid creams and the news broadcasting about the toxins in our skincare I decided to reach out to some professional skincare makers who made and sold natural products. And they all told me the same thing: I needed to learn the basics from qualified formulators.
I took their advice and got certified in Organic Skincare Formulation. Only, I didn’t want to launch a skincare range. I don't have a background in making cosmetics, but I have a product that I had created for personal use years ago so it is my only offering at the moment. Your course was like the answer to my prayers! I desperately want to expand my line and include at the very least a line of bath products - bath bombs and bath salts. Does Formulate Like A Pro Offer a Certificate?
Yes, a certificate is available in the ENTREPRENEURS PLAN once you complete your program. You will complete a quiz after every module to ensure you have learnt all the necessary basics, and at the end, you will submit a formulation designed by you for assessment.
What startup costs should I budget for?
Once you sign up, we will send you the supplies list; you will probably have some of the supplies already if you’ve been making your own skincare. But, the price depends on your supplier. Starting from scratch, you can budget for no more than £200 initial supply cost.
How long will I have access?
You will have lifetime access to the content. You will need to complete the assessment portion within one year of purchasing to get a certificate.
What if I want a refund?
Due to this product's nature (digital goods), all sales are final. Once the checkout process has finished, you automatically gain access to the templates. Our end has no guarantee or proof that you or anybody else in your team, organisation or family will not use our products. Hence we do not offer refunds.
